As loss of balance occurs in 75% of people with multiple sclerosis, it is common for them to use walking frames or even wheelchairs to assist the rest of their lives. Without the sense of balance, this may disable one’s ability to walk, let alone run. So by having a walking stick or frame would obviously affect one’s daily life greatly. If a sufferer suffers from tremor in their limbs, drugs and medication may need to be consumed on a regular basis in order to relieve against it.
One action which sufferers may need to take is to modify furniture around the home to suit the sufferer. For example, if using a kettle is required, a tipping kettle can help if there is an arm tremor. Adapted kitchen heights may also be altered to suit the height of a wheelchair (if the sufferer uses a wheelchair to move).
