As fatigue, speech difficulties, vision, spasticity and loss of balance are experienced by someone with multiple sclerosis, this can easily affect their lives economically as well as socially. For example, if a sufferer cannot even walk and talk properly, it would prevent them from working efficiently yet, normally. Without these simple functions of the body, this may lead to loss of employment and job loss. It usually isn’t the ability to work which threatens one’s employment, it is the ability to get to work which many people cannot manage. Since multiple sclerosis cannot be eliminated entirely, this ultimately means that sufferers may not ever work again. Lack of motivation, depression and stress all contribute to the possibility of losing jobs. By not being able to work, sufferers would not be able to earn money and may lose relationships from their workplace. Since symptoms may be initiated due to being exposed to extreme temperatures, this confines many sufferers’ daily activities. Sufferers would be restricted from excessive amounts of exercise which are in the sun.
