Progressive-relapsing MS is the least common type of multiple sclerosis (approximately 5% of sufferers) and may lead to progression in disabilities. The symptoms consist of critical attacks which may not be followed by distinguishable recovery. Although symptoms suffered from this disease may differ depending on where demyelination occurs in the body, some symptoms may include depression, sensitivity to heat, numbness or being unable to think clearly. Symptoms usually last for at least 24 hours or even weeks. This type of multiple sclerosis is closely similar to primary progressive MS as this type of MS also becomes worse over time.
