One method is called ‘Immunosuppression’ which is the process in which the lymphocytes in the body is removed. Lymphocytes are a type of white blood cell and it indicates the formation of MS. By eliminating lymphocytes, it may potentially stop the demyelination in the body and therefore cue multiple sclerosis. Some examples of immunosuppressive agents used are cyclophosphamide, azathioprine, cyclosporine and many more. By removing aspects of white blood cells, the immune system may reduce its ability to demyelinate. However, regular blood tests must be taken by the sufferer to ensure that white blood cells have not decreased excessively.
